The books are specially collected for related subjects. In addition collections research reports, past papers, reports, paper cutting collection, map collection etc. Book collection and resources are name five section in our library. There are reference, lending, special Sri Lanka collection and periodical.

Organization of the Library Collection

Library books have organized according to the world recognized classification scheme called DDC 23 (Devey Decimal Classification 23rd Edition). Generally universal knowledge has divided in to 10 groups under DDC as follows;

Every book which has accessioned in the libraries has given its specific class number and author recognition by first three letters of his surname described as "call number".

When you search books throughout the library OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) by several search points such as; title of the book, name of the author(s), ISBN or publisher etc., the result will be retrieved with this call number. When you find the call number for your searched book, it helps you to find out the correct book out of the huge collection from the library. Generally the library books have arranged according to the class number and alphabetically order of the authors names or titles of the books.

Past Question Papers Collection

Members of the library can access both Hard and Digital collections of the past question papers which related to the end semester exams conducted by the University.

Digital Collection of the past question papers can be accessed throughout the Intranet (University IP Only) via http://192.248.95.57:8080/xmlui/

This collection can be search throughout several search points such as by name of the Faculty, by year of exam held, by name of the Departments, by titles of the paper or by subjects etc. Once you find the searched paper, you can download it as .pdf to your flash drive or e-mail to your account.
